Senior Accountant / Analyst

The Senior Accountant/Analyst position is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and independent accounting professional to make a tangible impact within a mid-sized distribution company. Key Responsibilities:

  • Help lead month-end closing process, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances from budgeted and historical amounts.
  • Process payroll for review by the Corporate Controller and CFO.
  • Perform KPI and management reporting and analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  • Evaluate company reserve balances and make recommendations for adjustments.
  • Maintain commission records and prepare commission calculations.
  • Assist with financial forecasting and modeling.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget and interim forecast updates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions, along with standardization and process improvement.
  • Prepare audit schedules and provide support during external audits.
  • Plan, lead, and represent the Finance Department in annual or interim physical inventory counts.
  • Review monthly travel card program postings.
  • Reconcile accruals for landed costs of inventory, including freight, duties, and tariffs.
  • Manage year-end 1099 reporting.
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Maintain the general ledger chart of accounts.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and projects.
  • Identify areas for improvement and efficiency in current processes.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, data interpretation, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, practices, internal controls, and regulations (GAAP).
  • Experience with NetSuite software preferred.
